While we are gearing up for our next major release – Enpass 6 – we’re continuously working on adding more features to the existing versions, and this time it’s a bunch of most-requested features on our Forums.
So, let’s dive right in.
The new system-wide shortcut to access Enpass
This new add-on in Enpass allows you to access the Enpass data from anywhere. For example, if you’re working on something and have to open Enpass to fetch your bank account details, all you need to do is hit the keyboard shortcut (hotkey) from within the same app you’re working on, and the Enpass helper window will pop-up right there to give you quick access to your Enpass data.
To learn how to set up the newly introduced hotkey on your Mac or Windows, just go through this section in the user manual.
Auto copy TOTP to clipboard
Sometimes it is annoying to switch to the Enpass app to manually copy the TOTP from the item and then paste it in the webpage to be finally able to log-in.
Starting with the latest version, Enpass will now automatically copy the TOTP from the item to the clipboard after autofilling the username and password on the webpage. You’ll just have to paste the TOTP in the required field and log in.
You don’t even have to worry about the new TOTP that gets changed every 30 seconds since Enpass will auto-update the new TOTP to the clipboard.
Now autofill basic auth dialogs too
Prior to this update, Enpass was only able to fill the login forms on a webpage, not the basic auth dialogue. But not anymore! This version is now capable of filling every single login form in Chrome and Opera browsers.
Autofill in Firefox 57 with the Microsoft Store app
After the add-ons were replaced by WebExtension in Firefox 57, the new Enpass app on the Microsoft Store stopped working with the Firefox browser. But we’ve managed to resolve the issue very quickly!
It’s just a component Native Messaging host for Enpass that you have to install as a standalone file and all done. For more detail on this, you may refer to this blog post.
So, that’s that. If you have any questions or clarifications, feel free to comment here, reach us on Twitter at @EnpassApp or on Facebook. You can also drop us a line at support@enpass.io for any issue, and to start any discussion, head straight to the Enpass Forums.
